Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Barraclough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Burke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Let it Rock. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Barraclough!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke misses with an uppercut.
Barraclough avoids the body shot from Burke.
Barraclough moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Burke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barraclough pinned against the cage. Barraclough gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Burke throws a body punch but Barraclough moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Burke, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barraclough moves away.
Burke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barraclough throws a shot from downtown. Burke moves away and avoids it.
Barraclough looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burke is fending him off so far but Barraclough persists. Nope, Burke circles away and we're back to standing.
Barraclough pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burke swings for the body but Barraclough moves out of range.
Barraclough misses with a double jab

and Burke counters with a single leg into guard. Barraclough didn't expect that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Barraclough working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Burke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barraclough avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Burke is looking to work some ground and pound but Barraclough has wrist control.
Burke postures up.
Burke wants to pass the guard but Barraclough is keeping the position.
Burke trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Barraclough manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Barraclough's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Barraclough lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Barraclough throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Barraclough misses with a series of wild punches.
A jab from Burke misses.
A choreographed right hand from Barraclough misses the target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barraclough manages to avoid it.
Barraclough keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burke pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Nice body punch from Burke.
Burke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barraclough.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Burke dominated that round.
That's time! Burke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Barraclough clinches.
Burke jumps guard but Barraclough stands there with Burke around his waist. Burke gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Barraclough prevents a takedown attempt there.
Barraclough misses with a knee strike.
Barraclough gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Burke.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Burke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barraclough scores with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Come on Barraclough - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

The is referee keeping an eye on Barraclough - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Barraclough is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Burke can't fight it off and eventually Barraclough manages to take the fight to the floor. Burke looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barraclough is pushing down on Burke's leg trying to pass to half guard. Burke is fighting to maintain full guard but Barraclough has managed to sneak the leg through.
Burke on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Barraclough is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Burke tries to get to full guard but Barraclough has control of the leg.
Burke is working hard here to advance position.
Burke is in trouble now - Barraclough has advanced to mount!
Burke is working to get back to half guard.
Barraclough pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Burke is desperately trying to improve his position but Barraclough has a good base and remains in mount.
A nice elbow there by Barraclough.

Barraclough working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Barraclough fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Burke is in all sorts of trouble here.
Barraclough is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Burke can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Burke is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Barraclough cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Burke is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burke is desperately trying to improve his position but Barraclough has a good base and remains in mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barraclough postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Burke badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Barraclough around the waist but Barraclough pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Barraclough is the winner by TKO! Barraclough jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Barraclough!
