PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sendy Suwito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Egg Roll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Suwito might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Living in Victory. Egg Roll will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roll gets to his feet - Suwito follows without any prompting.

Suwito closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Roll to the mat! Roll manages to get full guard.

Roll is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Roll wants to get back to his feet but Suwito is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roll can do anything to dispel that myth.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roll is on top in guard.
Suwito wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

and Roll counters with a three punch combo that has Suwito backing up. Suwito nods at Roll to acknowledge the strikes.
Suwito closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roll circles away.
Suwito tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roll sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suwito somewhat.

and Roll counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Suwito down! Roll is looking to finish but Suwito is intelligently defending himself.
Oh Suwito is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Suwito is breathing heavily.
Roll pushes down on Suwito's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Suwito is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Roll takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Suwito seems to have got his legs back now.
Roll throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Roll postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Suwito to stand up.
Roll is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

and Roll counters with a left and a right that stings Suwito.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roll looking to sit in guard and control but Suwito gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Roll is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Roll manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Roll lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suwito circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Suwito dives in and grabs Roll's left leg, looking for a takedown. Roll pushes down on Suwito's head and hops out.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Suwito shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roll sprawls well. Roll wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Suwito gets slowly back to his feet.

Sendy Suwito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suwito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roll tries to avoid it but Suwito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roll to the ground. Roll escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
