PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between La Davina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, La Davina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Williams!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davina tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davina to the ground. Davina escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davina throws a half hearted mid kick.

Davina closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Davina is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Davina is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davina to get the leverage.
Williams is trying to control but can't.
Davina is taking a breather. Williams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Williams is in trouble now - Davina has advanced to mount!
Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davina working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Williams turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Davina off and cradles Williams's limp body as Davina celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). La Davina!
