Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Pikkarainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pikkarainen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Apocalyptica - Path kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Pikkarainen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pikkarainen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pikkarainen moves forwards but Pearson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pearson is defended easily by Pikkarainen.
Pearson loads up on a big right hand but Pikkarainen slips the punch.
Pikkarainen looks to throw the jab but Pearson is out of range.

and Pikkarainen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pearson throws a hook but Pikkarainen blocks it.
Pikkarainen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pikkarainen checks the leg kick.
Pearson lands a nice looking body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pearson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pikkarainen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pearson is in Pikkarainen's guard.

Pikkarainen has his foot on Pearson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pearson works his way back into a safe position though.

Pikkarainen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pearson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pearson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pearson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pikkarainen has wrist control.

Pikkarainen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pearson's guard.
Pearson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pikkarainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pearson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pikkarainen passes Pearson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pikkarainen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pikkarainen slips a nice elbow through Pearson's hands, connecting with Pearson's forehead.
Pearson is pressing down on Pikkarainen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Pikkarainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pearson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pikkarainen has managed to get both his arms back between Pearson's legs - danger averted.
Pikkarainen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pearson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pearson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pikkarainen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Pearson has tightened it up now! Pikkarainen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Tyson Pearson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Outkast Clothing Line logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
