Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Saaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Rand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Rand told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Saaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Rand!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Saaki misses with a takedown
and Rand cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Saaki with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rand counters with a stiff right hand.
Saaki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rand counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Saaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rand lands a big head kick that sends Saaki tumbling to the mat! Rand takes a step backwards and waves Saaki back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Jim Saaki has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rand closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Saaki! Rand dives in looking to finish! Saaki is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Rand!
