Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Herald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ross Maxwell!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell shoots in looking for a takedown. Herald tries to sprawl out of it but Maxwell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Herald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Herald throws a solid leg kick but Maxwell takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Herald.
Herald throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Maxwell counter with a right hand.
Herald stuffs the takedown attempt from Maxwell. Maxwell gets slowly back to his feet.
Herald swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Maxwell counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maxwell is keen to just control but Herald is a slippery customer.
Herald is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maxwell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maxwell's back!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Herald.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maxwell covering up well under a series of strikes from Herald.
Maxwell tries to roll but Herald sticks to his back.
Maxwell just looking to survive in the bad position.
Herald controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Herald has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Maxwell.
Maxwell wants to escape the position.
Maxwell covering up well and avoiding damage.
Herald struggling to keep hold of the position.
Herald avoiding Maxwell 's attempts to control his hands.
Herald thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Maxwell is keeping busy.

Herald lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Herald has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Maxwell's body.
Maxwell tries to break free.

Herald is punishing Maxwell with some ground and pound.
Herald is riding his opponent, not letting Maxwell buck him off.

A lull in the action here.
Maxwell tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herald throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Maxwell is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Maxwell trying to control the hands but Herald won't let him.
Herald is looking to control Maxwell but Maxwell is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Herald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Herald has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Maxwell.
Herald trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Herald is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Maxwell tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Maxwell holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Herald tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Herald lands a heavy elbow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maxwell doing his best to control the position. Can he escape?
Herald lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Herald catches Maxwell with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Maxwell forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Justin Herald!
Justin Herald decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
