McDermid has chosen The Drunken Scotsman - The Irish Rovers as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McDermid throws out the jab.
McDermid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

McDermid gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McDermid lands an elbow just above Parker 's eye.

It looks like Andrew Parker has been cut.

Parker breaks the clinch.
McDermid is looking to clinch.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McDermid, right into the meat.
McDermid looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Parker throws a lazy uppercut
enabling McDermid to counter with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McDermid dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Parker. That did some damage!
McDermid lands with a thumping leg kick.
McDermid fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Parker is breathing heavily.
McDermid buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McDermid tries to clinch up.
McDermid lands a head kick. Parker smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Parker ducks right into an uppercut from McDermid.
McDermid scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDermid misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McDermid throws a leg kick which misses Parker's front leg but catches the back leg as Parker tries to avoid it.
McDermid thows a body kick. Parker tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Crack! A monster head kick from McDermid and Parker falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by McDermid!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Shamus McDermid!
Shamus McDermid got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
