Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Corbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Preston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Corbett! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Preston moves into the clinch. Corbett looking for a takedown. Corbett fails to pull guard.
Corbett manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Preston could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Corbett wants to improve his position but instead Preston has moved into half guard.
Corbett is looking for a sweep. Preston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Corbett moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Corbett has a closed guard, preventing Preston from standing up. Preston trying to control but Corbett is working from the bottom. Preston throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Preston trying to control the position from guard on top but Corbett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Preston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Corbett wants to sweep but no luck. Preston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Corbett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Preston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Preston missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Corbett is looking for a triangle but Preston pushes his legs off easily.

Preston slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Corbett manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preston is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Preston with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Corbett is desperately trying to improve his position but Preston has a good base and remains in mount. Preston controlling from the full mount. Preston tries to control but Corbett wriggling away. Preston looking for a guillotine from mount but Corbett is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corbett is trying to escape the mount.
Preston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Corbett on the ground. Preston looking to control but Corbett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Preston controlling the pace for now. Corbett is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Preston controlling from the full mount. Preston working the ground and pound effectively.
Corbett can't escape the position.
Preston trying to control but Corbett is having none of it. Corbett tries to reverse the position but Preston maintains control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Preston scoring with strikes but Corbett is staying in there. Preston looking to control and managing it successfully. Corbett keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nathan Corbett will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Preston misses with a takedown attempt - Corbett sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Preston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Corbett shoots for a double leg takedown but Preston sprawls well. He's pushed Corbett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Richard Preston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Preston misses with a few strikes there.
Corbett scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Corbett scores with a nice head shot. Corbett has Preston up against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Corbett has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Preston avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Corbett slows down the pace here.

Corbett tries to score a body lock takedown but Preston shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Preston is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Corbett gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Preston is trying to break free. Corbett ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Corbett no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Preston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Corbett throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Corbett is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Preston frees his head nicely. Oh but Corbett has switched to an armbar! Preston is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
