Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Eurodancer. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Smith! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith throws a combination. Jones tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Smith looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there. Jones wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Jones is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. Jones trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it. Smith is not content to let Jones control the position. Still in half guard, Jones seems content to control. Jones stops Smith from getting back to his feet.
Jones stalling. Jones working the head and body with strikes. Jones looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith. Jones looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jones is standing up, even though he is in mount. Smith blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones gets the takedown into side control. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is not content to let Jones control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Smith looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jones is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Smith has managed to free his arm - good work. Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smith missing with punches from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jones wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Smith trying to control here.
Smith tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Jones trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Jones is stalling here. Smith is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jones seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Smith has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Smith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Jones dominated that round. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. A chopping leg kick lands by Jones. Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jones trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are battling for position here. Smith manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jones is stalling in the full guard. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jones preventing the sweep. Jones stops Smith from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones scoring with punches to the head and body. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nice sprawl there from Smith as Jones shoots in. Jones gets the takedown into side control. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet! Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side. Smith tries to clinch up. Jones dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Jones has managed to clinch.
Smith connects with a nasty looking knee right to Jones's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith can't break the clinch.
Smith is trying to break free. Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Jones manages to pull guard.
Smith is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Smith works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Jones is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Jones dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones misses with a takedown and Smith moves into the clinch. A shot in the inside from Jones. Jones jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smith uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jones scores a takedown into full mount! Smith slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Smith slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jones trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Jones puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Jones wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position. Jimmy Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smith is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Jones pressing his opponent against the cage. Smith trying to stall but Jones improves his position.
Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jones lands a big elbow. Smith tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape. Smith tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Smith is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Jones is staying active. Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Jones has control of Smith's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smith regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Smith squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
