PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Valentino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Conlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentino comes to the cage accompanied by Bangarang. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brendan Conlon was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddy Valentino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brendan Conlon!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valentino moves into range and clinches up with Conlon.
A right hand to the body from Valentino.

Valentino's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Conlon moves out of range as Valentino throws a body kick.

Valentino manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Conlon on his heels. He'll look to pass Conlon's guard now, I'm sure.

Valentino stands up from Conlon's guard - Valentino perhaps looking for a knockout.
Conlon shoots in but Valentino avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Conlon shoots for a takedown but Valentino saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Valentino throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Valentino pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Conlon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valentino circles away quickly and effectively.
Valentino slaps away a takedown attempt from Conlon, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Conlon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Valentino is surviving well by controlling Conlon's body position as best he can.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eddy Valentino will probably get the nod.

Valentino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Valentino wants it to stay on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Valentino goes for an armbar but Conlon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Conlon.
Valentino knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Conlon on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddy Valentino.
Well Valentino has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
