Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Munkong Kiatsomkuan!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro with a poor takedown
and Kiatsomkuan makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ribeiro really felt that one!
Kiatsomkuan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kiatsomkuan feints and then cracks Ribeiro's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ribeiro down.

Kiatsomkuan closes the distance and pushes Ribeiro back into the cage.

Kiatsomkuan has clasped his hands together around Ribeiro's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Kiatsomkuan tries to stand but Ribeiro is controlling his head.
Kiatsomkuan trying to control the position but Ribeiro is working away.
Ribeiro sneaks back into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ribeiro gets back to full guard.

Ribeiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kiatsomkuan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ribeiro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kiatsomkuan defends it easily.

Ribeiro has his foot on Kiatsomkuan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kiatsomkuan works his way back into a safe position though.

Ribeiro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kiatsomkuan wanted to stand there but Ribeiro had control of the position.
Kiatsomkuan wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.

Kiatsomkuan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ribeiro to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kiatsomkuan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ribeiro pulls down on the head and he's put Kiatsomkuan to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Carlos Ribeiro!
A relieved looking Carlos Ribeiro thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
