PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Foster's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lynyrd Skynrd - Sweet Home Alabama. Diggler has chosen kick my ass......rehab as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caleb Foster!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Diggler!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler throws a left and a right that both miss

and Foster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foster.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Foster drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Diggler dives on top into guard.
Diggler is looking to work some ground and pound but Foster has wrist control.
Diggler trying to control but Foster is working from the bottom.
Diggler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Foster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Foster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diggler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diggler trying to move into half guard but instead Foster has managed to sweep!

Foster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diggler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diggler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diggler!
Foster tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diggler wants to stand but Foster has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Foster keeping moving, preventing Diggler from controlling successfully.
Diggler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Foster's head.

Foster throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Diggler wants to control from the top but Foster keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diggler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diggler postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Foster is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Diggler, into his guard.

Foster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diggler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diggler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diggler!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Diggler tries for a kimura but Foster is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foster regains half guard.

Foster looking for submissions off his back.

Diggler decides to stand up.
Diggler throws a right hand that Foster ducks under and follows up with a left that Foster also avoids with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Diggler scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Foster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diggler circles away.
Foster slips a jab and a cross from Diggler.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diggler. Foster does a little dance to reset his feet.
Diggler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Foster circles away quickly and effectively.
Foster showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Diggler.
Diggler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diggler swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Foster counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diggler!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You get the feeling that Diggler really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caleb Foster dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Foster darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Foster is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Diggler defends it well.

Foster is working for an americana but Diggler has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Foster was thinking about the submission.

Foster thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Foster drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diggler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Foster has Diggler in his guard.
Diggler tries to free his leg and advance position but Foster is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Diggler is sitting in close to Foster's body. Foster has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Diggler is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Diggler is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Foster.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Caleb Foster!
Caleb Foster retains his middleweight title!
