PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marko Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Dick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Stewie Griffen - Rocket Man. Dick comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Conquer All kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dick.

Dick moves into the clinch.
Gracie lands with a short shot to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Gracie.
Come on Gracie - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Dick throws a head punch that misses.
Gracie lands a left hand.
Gracie blocks an elbow strike from Dick.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Dick doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Gracie works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dick tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Gracie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dick regains guard immediately.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dick utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gracie trying to control but Dick is working from the bottom.
Gracie passes into half guard.
Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dick is controlling Gracie's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Dick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gracie.
Gracie wants to control but Dick is keeping him busy.
Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Dick pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.

Dick is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dick avoid being mounted?
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie lands a nice short elbow.

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Dick keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gracie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Dick is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dick avoid being mounted?
Dick looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!
The referee warns Dick that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gracie connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Gracie prevents Dick from getting the reversal.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gracie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Dick is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Dick flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gracie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Dick and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gracie slips an arm under Dick chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gracie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gracie is squeezing on Dick like an anaconda would it's prey. Dick fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
