PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Tucket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xuang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tucket comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park - "New Divide". We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Tucket!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xuang Lee!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee drives through and clinches with Tucket against the cage.
Lee is looking for a takedown.

Tucket escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tucket takes one on the button.
Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Lee misses.
Tucket throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.
A head kick misses from Tucket.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Tucket saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tucket stuffs the takedown.
Jack Tucket has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xuang Lee.
Lee wants to land a leg kick but Tucket is out of range.
Jack Tucket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tucket moves into range and clinches up with Lee.
Lee avoiding damage as Tucket throws knees to the body.
Tucket landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Tucket throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lee blocks it with crossed arms.

Tucket turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tucket wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.

Tucket misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The strikes coming from Tucket are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ground and pound from Tucket seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lee is looking to reverse the position.
Tucket trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.
Tucket working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee is trying to get back to half guard.
Tucket throws an elbow but Lee slips to the side and avoids it well.
Tucket is working Lee over with some ground and pound from side control.

Lee dodges the ground and pound from Tucket.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tucket is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tucket is trying to get an arm triangle but Lee is defending well.
Tucket in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Lee manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tucket's best efforts.
Tucket seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tucket looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Tucket.
Tucket connects with a high kick.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.
Tucket throws a nice outside leg kick.

Lee drives through and clinches with Tucket against the cage.
Tucket is trying to break the clinch but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Tucket wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tucket wants a takedown.
Tucket is breathing heavily.
Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tucket gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tucket tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Lee is trying to pull guard but Tucket turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tucket gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee is trying to break free.
Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tucket walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tucket swinging wildly here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tucket changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Tucket manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice takedown defense from Lee. No joy for Tucket on that attempt.
Tucket displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Tucket dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Tucket misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tucket tries a head kick but it misses.

Lee instigates a clinch.

Tucket pulls Lee into guard.
Lee wants to pass the guard but Tucket is keeping the position.
Lee throws a big elbow that misses.
Tucket is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lee works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tucket is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lee wants to work for an arm triangle but Tucket is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tucket is trying is best to control the position here.

Lee is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lee is looking to take a break and control but Tucket is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee trying to control the pace.
Tucket works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Tucket is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tucket is proving hard to escape from.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Xuang Lee hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tucket throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely.
Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lee wants to sweep here but Tucket controlling him for the moment.
Lee is looking to stand up but Tucket isn't so interested in that idea.

Lee has his feet on Tucket's thighs here. He's pushed Tucket off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Tucket screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
