Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Albert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Albert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Reynolds !
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reynolds pinned against the cage. Reynolds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reynolds looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Reynolds shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Albert sprawls well. Albert wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Reynolds gets slowly back to his feet.

Reynolds clinches up with Albert and pushes him back against the cage.
Reynolds tries to score a body lock takedown but Albert shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Albert pulls guard.
Albert looking to control.
Reynolds must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Albert is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Albert.

Reynolds closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Albert's guard.
Albert controls Reynolds momentarily but Reynolds frees himself.
Reynolds controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Albert is pulling down on Reynolds 's head. It's preventing any offense from Reynolds , at least for the moment.

Albert has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Reynolds is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reynolds tries to clinch but Albert is having none of it.

Albert shoots in and gets a takedown into Reynolds 's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Albert controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Reynolds has a closed guard, preventing Albert from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Albert gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A head kick by Reynolds misses

and Albert holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Reynolds wants a takedown.
John Albert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Reynolds .
Reynolds looks winded!

Albert's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Albert shoots in and drives through. Reynolds sprawls well.
Albert gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Reynolds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Albert has his foot on Reynolds 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reynolds works his way back into a safe position though.
Albert is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Albert wants to stand and escape but Reynolds is having none of it.

Reynolds with a flurry of punches that miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reynolds in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Reynolds wants to stand and escape but instead Albert has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reynolds is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Albert gets to his feet - Reynolds follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Albert will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Reynolds lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Reynolds shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reynolds was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Reynolds misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Albert is looking to improve his position but Reynolds isn't that keen on the idea.

Reynolds throws some wild stikes that Albert manages to avoid easily.
Albert is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Albert is desperately trying to improve his position but Reynolds has a good base and remains in mount.
Albert wants to control but Reynolds is having none of it.
The referee warns Albert that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Reynolds working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Reynolds is breathing heavily.
Albert is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Reynolds goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Albert is on top in guard.
Jacob Reynolds has got the better of the ground game so far.
Albert is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We're going to have a standup here because John Albert wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Albert dives in and scores a takedown into Reynolds 's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Albert just wasn't active enough.
Albert clobbers Reynolds with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Albert will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Albert gets the takedown into side control.

Albert decides to stand back up. Albert steps back and let's Reynolds get back to his feet.

Albert closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reynolds quickly recovers to half guard.

Albert wants to control but Reynolds is keeping him busy.
Albert is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Reynolds is looking to control Albert's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reynolds avoid being mounted?
Reynolds keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Reynolds takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Albert decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Albert closes the distance and clinches up with Reynolds , looking for a takedown. Albert pushes Reynolds against the cage but Reynolds circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Reynolds keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Albert fails with the takedown

so Reynolds counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Albert. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Albert throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Reynolds escapes and throws Albert's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Reynolds has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Reynolds counters with a one-two to the body.

Reynolds misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Albert scores with a kick to the body.
Albert has a takedown stuffed.
Albert tries to close the distance and clinch but Reynolds swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Reynolds bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Albert is trying to improve his position.
Albert regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Albert trying to hold on to Reynolds 's head to control him but Reynolds postures up.
Reynolds throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Reynolds works his foot free and advances to mount.
Albert tries to reverse the position but Reynolds maintains control.
Reynolds wants to control the pace but Albert is squirming around nicely.
Albert is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Albert sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Reynolds is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Albert is just riding it out for now. Reynolds eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are battling for position here. Albert manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Albert.
Well Albert has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
