Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ginokai Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gennady Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ginokai Kai Gi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gennady Vieira!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kai Gi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vieira takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Gennady Vieira has been cut.
Vieira throws a series of punches but Kai Gi moves out of range.
Gennady Vieira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vieira takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kai Gi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vieira circles away quickly and effectively.
Crunch! Kai Gi slams his shin into Vieira's torso.
Vieira throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vieira looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vieira misses with a wild combination.
Kai Gi lands with a slapping head kick.
Vieira takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vieira walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Vieira tries to close the distance and clinch but Kai Gi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No joy there for Kai Gi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vieira scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kai Gi moves out of range as Vieira throws a body kick.
Vieira moves into range and clinches up with Kai Gi.
Kai Gi pulls guard successfully.

Vieira got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kai Gi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vieira has managed to get both his arms back between Kai Gi's legs - danger averted.
Kai Gi has a closed guard, preventing Vieira from standing up.

Kai Gi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vieira defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Vieira tries to free his leg and advance position but Kai Gi is retaining full guard.

Kai Gi has momentary wrist control but Vieira slips an elbow through the middle.
Vieira must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kai Gi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vieira avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kai Gi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vieira lands a big head kick that sends Kai Gi tumbling to the mat! Vieira takes a step backwards and waves Kai Gi back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kai Gi is rocked!
It looks like Ginokai Kai Gi has been cut.
Jab, jab by Kai Gi - just one landing.
Vieira falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kai Gi counters with a head kick. That will keep Vieira thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Vieira is rocked!
Kai Gi grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Vieira takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Kai Gi cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ginokai Kai Gi!
