Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexis Ruiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anwar Sadat! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz throws a head kick that half lands.
Sadat throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ruiz was covering up waiting for the punch and Sadat finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ruiz is looking to stand up but Sadat isn't so interested in that idea. Ruiz keeping full guard, as Sadat tries to pass. Ruiz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sadat defends well. Sadat looking to pass the guard. Ruiz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sadat's guard. Ruiz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sadat's guard. Ruiz trying to control the position from guard on top but Sadat is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sadat pulls Ruiz in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz wants to get up but he can't break Sadat's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sadat manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sadat working for a submission but Ruiz is keeping him at bay. Sadat manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ruiz to take his back! I really don't envy Ruiz right now.

Ruiz is trying to stand back up. Sadat has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Ruiz is in real trouble here. Sadat gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Ruiz is tapping out! Sadat wins by rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Anwar Sadat!
