And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Sanford!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanford throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cong tries for a takedown but Sanford sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cong shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanford sprawls well. He's pushed Cong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sanford tries a head kick but it misses.
Cong shoots for a takedown but Sanford saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Cong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cong cracks Sanford with a good jab.


It looks like Fred Sanford has been cut.
Cong shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sanford stuffs the takedown attempt from Cong. Cong gets slowly back to his feet.
Christian Cong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanford displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cong.
Cong throws a lazy right hand but Sanford sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cong shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanford sprawls well. He's pushed Cong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice takedown defense from Sanford. No joy for Cong on that attempt.
Sanford lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Christian Cong has been cut.
Sanford thuds his shin into the meat of Cong's side.
Cong takes one on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanford throws a quick inside leg kick.
Sanford looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Sanford backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Cong's temple! It sends Cong violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Sanford celebrates and the doctors try to help Cong!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Fred Sanford!
After winning the bout, Fred Sanford thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
