The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lindland as he avoids it easily.
Lindland just misses with a punch to the body.
Lindland ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grant moves away.
Grant tries for a takedown but Lindland circles away easily
and Lindland counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Brandon Grant has been cut.
Lindland misses with a straight left.
Lindland cracks Grant with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Grant slips under a jab from Lindland.

and Grant connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Grant tries for a takedown but Lindland sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lindland scores with a jab. Grant acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Poor strikes thrown by Grant there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lindland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Grant lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Grant cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Grant swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lindland is now in Grant's guard. A big mistake from Grant there, giving up the dominant position!

and Grant takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Grant moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Grant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lindland wants to control the position but Grant says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Lindland is trying desperately to improve position.

Grant is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lindland has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Grant postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lindland looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grant connects with a bit shot that sees Lindland covering up! More strikes from Grant and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Grant is our winner by TKO!
