Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Celtics. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis lands a jab. Hume throws a quick inside leg kick. Hume throws a head kick that Davis semi-blocks.
Hume tries to clinch but Davis moves out of range. Hume leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Good exchange - Hume coming out on top. Davis shoots and misses and Hume counters with a straight right hand. Davis fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hume misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Davis.
Desmond Hume seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hume throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.
Hume throws a low kick but Davis avoids it. Hume tries to clinch up. Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Hume sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hume tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hume stuffs the takedown. Davis takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hume throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Davis.
It looks like Glen Davis has been cut. Hume lands with a thumping leg kick.
Davis throws a right and a left that both miss. Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hume but Hume pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hume delivers a nice body kick. Hume lands a high kick!

and Davis counters with a shoot takedown. Hume fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Davis is looking to work some ground and pound but Hume has wrist control. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Hume is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hume working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davis. Hume utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hume is looking to stand up but Davis isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis wants to control from the top but Hume keeps moving. Hume is pulling down on Davis's head. It's preventing any offense from Davis, at least for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hume can do anything to dispel that myth. Hume wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hume displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davis. Hume leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hume is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard. Davis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hume is working away from the top position though. Davis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hume pulls his head out easily. Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hume working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hume postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Davis looks a forlorn figure.
Jeez, Glen Davis's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
