Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Dale Arizona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Adebesi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Dale Arizona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Adebesi!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arizona closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Arizona stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Arizona breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Arizona lands a nice looking kick to the body. Adebesi takes a step back to recover.
Adebesi cracks Arizona with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Arizona shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Adebesi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Arizona is controlling him.

Arizona stands up and waves to Adebesi to follow him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adebesi swinging wildly here.

Arizona scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Arizona tries to score with some ground and pound. Adebesi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Adebesi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Arizona is controlling him well.

Arizona wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Adebesi, who protects the arm well.

Arizona wants to control but Adebesi is keeping him busy.
Arizona tries to move to mount but Adebesi blocks the move with his legs.
Arizona is looking to take a break and control but Adebesi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Arizona working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Adebesi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Arizona works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Adebesi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Arizona in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Arizona is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adebesi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Adebesi is pushing Arizona's head away, looking to escape. Arizona manages to hold on to the position though.
Arizona throws a strike aimed at the side of Adebesi's head but Adebesi avoids it well.

Arizona looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Adebesi wants to get back to his feet but Arizona drags him back down.

Arizona is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adebesi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Adebesi is pushing Arizona's head away, looking to escape. Arizona manages to hold on to the position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Arizona tries for a kimura but Adebesi is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adebesi explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
A swing and a miss from Adebesi.
Simon Adebesi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adebesi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Arizona counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Arizona wants to pass the guard but Adebesi is keeping the position.
Adebesi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Arizona wants to control from the top but Adebesi keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Glen Dale Arizona wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Arizona fails in his attempt to clinch.
Arizona tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adebesi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Adebesi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Some wild striking there from Arizona.
Adebesi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
No luck for Arizona with that takedown attempt.
Adebesi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Arizona has time to react.

Arizona rushes Adebesi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Arizona working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Arizona tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Arizona can't find room to land a body shot as Adebesi controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Dale Arizona dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Adebesi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Arizona's head.
Arizona rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Adebesi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Adebesi fails to land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Adebesi.
Adebesi keeps the fight on the outside.
Good shot there by Adebesi.
Adebesi scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Arizona shoots in but no luck this time.
Arizona lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd cheers as Adebesi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Arizona doesn't seem phased though.
Adebesi stuffs the takedown attempt from Arizona. Arizona gets slowly back to his feet.
Arizona fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Dale Arizona. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arizona misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Arizona moves in looking to clinch but Adebesi pushes him off.
Adebesi lands a jab to Arizona's midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Arizona looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Adebesi is fending him off so far but Arizona persists. Nope, Adebesi circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Adebesi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Arizona closes the distance and clinches up with Adebesi, looking for a takedown. Arizona pushes Adebesi against the cage but Adebesi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Adebesi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nice cross by Adebesi.


Arizona is rocked!
Glen Dale Arizona is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Adebesi stuns Arizona with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Oh Arizona is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Adebesi throws a series of punches but Arizona moves out of range.
Adebesi moves into range and connects with a jab.
Adebesi goes for a small jab and connects. Now Adebesi goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Arizona stumbles back but Adebesi runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Arizona to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Arizona will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Simon Adebesi!
