Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, nhoJ aneC! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Redl! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redl closes this distance looking for a takedown but aneC circles away. Redl clinches. Redl has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed aneC clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Redl gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Redl is throwing shots to the body but aneC manages to wriggle free. Redl pounces on him again and ends up in aneC's guard. Redl working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Redl accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Redl postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Redl landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Redl accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redl trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. aneC avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Redl with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Redl trying to control but aneC is working from the bottom. Redl loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Redl with a flurry of punches that miss. Redl throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Redl is looking to advance position but aneC has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! aneC avoids the attempt from Redl to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redl is looking to improve his position but aneC isn't that keen on the idea. aneC tries to stand up but Redl grabs his leg and drags him down! Redl is now on top, in side control. aneC taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redl scoring with punches from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Redl landing a few strikes.
aneC is rocked! Redl cracks aneC with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Redl immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! aneC is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Redl!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Redl!
