The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a low kick but Hitter avoids it.
Hitter tries a head kick but it misses.
Carter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hitter takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Carter throws a right and a left that Hitter avoids nicely.
Hitter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Hitter tries to land a front kick but Carter steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Carter misses with a low kick as Hitter jumps back.
Hitter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Carter lands with a cross.
A left and a right from Carter both land. Nice combination.
La Tron Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
Carter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carter.
Carter misses with a low kick as Hitter jumps back.
Carter scores with a one two! Hitter had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Hitter is rocked!
Carter throws a nice looking combination but Hitter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hitter is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him?
Carter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hitter seems to have recovered his senses.
Carter tries to land a leg kick but Hitter saw it coming and moves away.
Hitter stuffs the takedown attempt from Carter. Carter gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for La Tron Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt - Hitter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter scores with a jab.
Hitter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hitter cracks a nice hook into Carter's ribs.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hitter gets the takedown into side control.
Hitter stands up and we're back to a striking position.
An inside leg kick from Carter misses.
Carter clobbers Hitter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Carter is looking to clinch.
Carter works over Hitter's head and body with a nice combination.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Carter attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hitter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hitter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carter's back!
Carter covers up after that shot from Hitter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hitter on the ground.
Hitter scores with strikes from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hitter has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Carter! Can he survive? No! He's out! Hitter gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Smash Hitter!
