Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Tripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Overeem might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Anthem. Tripper is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Disturbed - Land Of Confusion. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overeem lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Tripper throws a nice outside leg kick.

Overeem lands with an uppercut that bounces Tripper off the cage and back into range.
Tripper shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tripper in particular looking to stall.

Overeem displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tripper throws out the jab.
Overeem lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tripper blocks the body kick.
Tripper misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Overeem.
A bone on bone clash there as Overeem blocks the leg kick.
Overeem throws a lazy right hand but Tripper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Sloppy strikes from Overeem. Those never looked like landing.
Tripper closes the distance and clinches up with Overeem, looking for a takedown. Tripper pushes Overeem against the cage but Overeem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Overeem takes a swing at Tripper's ribcage but misses.
Tripper digs a good hook to Overeem's body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Overeem, right into the meat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Overeem uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tripper.
Overeem throws a sloppy head kick and Tripper moves out of range easily.
Overeem tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Overeem lands with a nice combination. Tripper backs away looking to recover.

Tripper postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Overeem looks a forlorn figure.
Tripper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
