Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Chips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuck Chips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Silva!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva drives through with a takedown into Chips's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Silva passes Chips's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Igor Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chips is trying to buck Silva off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chips wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Silva might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Igor Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chips looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chips is letting Silva control him for a moment.
Chips throws a few strikes from the bottom but Silva takes advantage and mounts!

Chips might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Silva moves into full mount! Chips won't be happy about that!
Chips on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chips tries to get out of the position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Chips is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chips is looking to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

You get the feeling that Chips really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chips doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.
Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Silva tries to pass to full mount but Chips defends it.
Silva slows the pace down in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chips tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Chips's guard.

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chips was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chips connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Chips turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Chips manages to end up in side control.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
