Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Cavalera!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Good exchange - Cavalera coming out on top.
King misses with an uppercut. Cavalera saw that one coming.
Cavalera just misses with a punch to the body.
King lands a slapping body shot.
Cavalera slips under a jab.

Cavalera closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice body punch from Cavalera.
King connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Max Cavalera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cavalera fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.

A head punch blocked on the inside by King.
King takes a shot to the head.
Cavalera misses with a punch on the inside.
Cavalera is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
King lands an uppercut.
Cavalera lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Cavalera tries to work over King's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cavalera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
King prevents a body shot from Cavalera.
Cavalera drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Cavalera misses with a punch to the body.
King lands with a short head shot on the inside.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cavalera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cavalera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cavalera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cavalera misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
King pushes Cavalera away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cavalera gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
King is trying to get back to half guard.
You can see the frustration on King's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cavalera throws a strike aimed at the side of King's head but King avoids it well.

Cavalera is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but King is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
King pushes Cavalera away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cavalera gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cavalera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cavalera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
King is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cavalera is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cavalera jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… King is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by King and Cavalera has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Cavalera dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


King misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cavalera.
King fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Cavalera fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cavalera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cavalera throws a combination but it was largely blocked by King.
King throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cavalera sees it coming and avoids it easily.
King moves into range and connects with a jab.

Cavalera throws a hook to the side of King's head but King sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
King scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cavalera in his tracks.

Ray King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King throws a series of punches but Cavalera avoids them all with ease.
King ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

King throws an overhand right that lands on Cavalera's shoulder, as Cavalera tries to avoid the shot.

Cavalera slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
King lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by King.
King rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cavalera moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
King moves forwards but Cavalera connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Cavalera is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cavalera is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cavalera is working for a kimura but King is defending it quite comfortably.
King is trying to stand.
Cavalera wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cavalera throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
King is trying to control but Cavalera manages to pass to mount!

Cavalera is working for a guillotine from mount but King frees his head quite easily.
King takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Max Cavalera has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cavalera fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Max Cavalera will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Cavalera shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily.
King takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cavalera bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps King's head backwards.

Cavalera tries to clinch but King is having none of it.
A lazy left from King finds it's target.
Cavalera lands with a nice combination. King backs away looking to recover.
Cavalera just misses with a punch to the body.
Cavalera throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.

Cavalera slips a straight right by King.
Ray King is winning the standup battle so far.
King misses with an uppercut. Cavalera saw that one coming.
Cavalera throws a nice looking combination but King bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
King misses with a wild body shot.
Sloppy strikes from King. Those never looked like landing.
King avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
King scores with a decent looking hook.
King waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cavalera.

King thows a body shot but no joy.

Cavalera takes the fight into the clinch.
Cavalera blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from King fails to land.
Cavalera fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cavalera lands a hook that snaps the head of King backwards.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cavalera has him pressed against the cage.
King can't find room to land a body shot as Cavalera controls the action.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Cavalera breaks from the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cavalera counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

A jab from Cavalera finds it's way through King's defenses.
Cavalera scores with a jab to the body.
Cavalera ducks under a wild hook from King.
Cavalera uses good head movement to avoid the hook from King.
Cavalera shoots in but no luck this time.
Ray King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Cavalera.

Cavalera gets a double leg takedown into King's guard.
King is trying to keep Cavalera in close.
Cavalera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now.
Ray King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cavalera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed King's guard.
King pushes Cavalera off looking to stand but Cavalera dives back in and keeps control.

Cavalera is working for a submission of some sort.
Cavalera missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Max Cavalera is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cavalera not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cavalera moves into full mount! King won't be happy about that!

Max Cavalera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
