The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malkowsky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Valdez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Malkowsky counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Malkowsky. Valdez is looking to stand up but Malkowsky isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malkowsky is working Valdez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Malkowsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valdez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Malkowsky postures up in Valdez's guard and throws a big left but Valdez blocks it. Valdez wants to stand up but Malkowsky is controlling him. Malkowsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Valdez keeping moving, preventing Malkowsky from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Will Malkowsky. Valdez misses with a takedown and Malkowsky counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Malkowsky. Malkowsky tightens his grip and picks Valdez up, before dumping him to the ground. Valdez manages to land in guard. Valdez kicks Malkowsky off and gets to his feet. Valdez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Malkowsky shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Valdez napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sloppy strikes there by Malkowsky. Malkowsky decides to stand back up. Malkowsky steps back and let's Valdez get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Malkowsky gets the takedown into side control. Valdez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Malkowsky asserts his dominance and retains side control. Malkowsky is looking to take a break and control but Valdez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

He's almost out here... but no, Malkowsky gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Malkowsky wants to stand but Valdez has his arm trapped. Valdez tries to escape but Malkowsky is in control. Valdez is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Malkowsky lands some shots froms side control. Malkowsky prevents Valdez from escaping the position. Malkowsky lands a decent elbow from side control. Malkowsky working the ground and pound. Valdez is pushing Malkowsky's head away, looking to escape. Malkowsky manages to hold on to the position though. Valdez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Valdez being controlled for a moment. Valdez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Malkowsky trying to control the action but Valdez is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valdez is pushing Malkowsky's head away, looking to escape. Malkowsky manages to hold on to the position though. Malkowsky tries to advance to mount but can't. Malkowsky is trying to get an arm triangle but Valdez is defending well. Valdez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Malkowsky asserts his dominance and retains side control. The referee asks Malkowsky politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Malkowsky prefers to stall for the moment though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Valdez is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Will Malkowsky dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Valdez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malkowsky but Malkowsky pushes him off and we're back to square one. Valdez has his takedown stuffed and Malkowsky counters with a nice double leg into guard. Malkowsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Malkowsky wants to get up but he can't break Valdez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Malkowsky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Valdez wants to get back to his feet but Malkowsky is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Malkowsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Will Malkowsky has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Malkowsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malkowsky throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Malkowsky lands a nice short elbow. Valdez has one foot on Malkowsky's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Valdez shoots and misses and Malkowsky counters with a driving takedown into guard. Valdez looks for a takedown but Malkowsky sprawls well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Valdez dives in and grabs Malkowsky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Malkowsky pushes down on Valdez's head and hops out. Valdez has his takedown stuffed and Malkowsky counters with a takedown into side control. Valdez is trying to buck Malkowsky off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malkowsky thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Valdez wants to get back to his feet but Malkowsky drags him back down. Malkowsky controlling from side mount. An elbow from Malkowsky crashes against the mat.
Malkowsky decides to stand up, so the ref orders Valdez to his feet. Valdez shoots for a double leg takedown but Malkowsky sprawls well. He's pushed Valdez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Valdez shoots and misses and Malkowsky counters by clinching up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malkowsky gets control of Valdez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Malkowsky will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Malkowsky is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Will Malkowsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, if Malkowsky is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Will Malkowsky was stalling too much, according to the referee. Valdez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Malkowsky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Valdez somewhat. Valdez with a lazy takedown attempt and Malkowsky counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Valdez is trying to stand back up but Malkowsky is controlling him
Malkowsky wants to control but Valdez is keeping him busy. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Malkowsky with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Malkowsky prevents Valdez from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malkowsky is trying to control the action in half guard but Valdez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Will Malkowsky was stalling too much, according to the referee. Valdez gets caught napping as Malkowsky dives in and scores a takedown. Valdez manages to retain guard. Malkowsky stands and steps away. Valdez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Malkowsky is defended easily by Valdez. Malkowsky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Malkowsky gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Malkowsky looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Valdez passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malkowsky wants to get back to full guard but Valdez has mounted him! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malkowsky tries to hold on but Valdez postures up. Malkowsky is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malkowsky is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Valdez controlling the pace for now. Valdez avoids the attempt from Malkowsky to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Malkowsky is looking to improve his position but Valdez isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Will Malkowsky. Valdez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Malkowsky's waist but Malkowsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valdez off to one side. Valdez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Malkowsky shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Valdez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Valdez wants to stand and escape but Malkowsky is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. German Valdez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Will Malkowsky is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Malkowsky has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Valdez is proving hard to escape from.
And that's the end of the fight! Will Malkowsky comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Malkowsky winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
