The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malkowsky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Valdez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Malkowsky counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Malkowsky.
Valdez is looking to stand up but Malkowsky isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malkowsky is working Valdez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
