Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Bourdeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Daly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daly is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Little Talks. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Bourdeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Daly!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourdeau misses with a wild combination.
Bourdeau fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bourdeau misses with a jab, cross combination.
Daly throws a body kick that misses.
Bourdeau tries for a takedown but Daly circles away easily
and Daly counters with a two punch combo.

Daly clinches up against the cage.
Daly stalling against the cage.
Bourdeau is trying to break the clinch but Daly is controlling him.

Daly lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bourdeau on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Daly tries to pass to full mount but Bourdeau defends it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bourdeau is looking to control Daly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bourdeau avoid being mounted?

Daly stands up out of the half guard.

Bourdeau tries to sprawl but Daly drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Daly prevents Bourdeau from standing back up.
Daly landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Daly is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bourdeau has managed to free his arm - good work.
Daly sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Daly takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bourdeau tries to get to full guard but Daly has control of the leg.
Daly is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Daly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bourdeau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bourdeau pushes Daly off but Daly dives into side control.
Bourdeau is breathing heavily.
The referee asks Daly politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Daly prefers to stall for the moment though.
Bourdeau pushes Daly away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Daly gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Daly content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Daly has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bourdeau throws the left hand but Daly avoids the punch easily.

Daly takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bourdeau keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bourdeau just misses with a punch to the body.
Bourdeau jabs Daly right on the nose. Daly blinks but takes it well.
Bourdeau connects with a body shot that sends Daly's belly button to the back.
Bourdeau throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bourdeau misses with a straight left.
Bourdeau swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Daly counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Daly stands up over Bourdeau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Daly controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bourdeau wants to stand but Daly is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daly trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Daly controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Daly stands and throws Bourdeau's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bourdeau is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Daly is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Daly with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Daly cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Daly takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Daly scoring with strikes but Bourdeau is staying in there.
Daly avoids the attempt from Bourdeau to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steven Daly dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Daly shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Daly showed some decent athleticism there.

Daly stands up and beckons Bourdeau to join him on the feet.
Daly takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bourdeau connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Bourdeau throws a right and a left that both miss.

Daly moves into range and clinches up with Bourdeau.
Bourdeau tries to break free but Daly pushes him back against the cage.

Daly successfully pulls guard.
Bourdeau wants to get up but he can't break Daly's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Daly pulls Bourdeau in to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bourdeau throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daly works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bourdeau wants to stand but Daly has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Daly controlling Bourdeau's posture.
Bourdeau is looking to work some ground and pound but Daly has wrist control.
Bourdeau stopping the sweep attempt from Daly.
Daly seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steven Daly wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bourdeau slips a jab and a cross from Daly.
Daly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bourdeau.
Daly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bourdeau misses with a wild body shot.

Daly closes the distance and clinches.
Bourdeau is trying to push Daly away but Daly has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Daly gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bourdeau regains guard.
Daly lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bourdeau can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Daly controls the pace.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bourdeau not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bourdeau wants to stand and escape but Daly is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bourdeau enables Daly to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bourdeau manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Daly decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bourdeau, up you get!
Bourdeau fails to land with a series of punches.

Bourdeau checks a leg kick.
Daly closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Bourdeau throws a hook but Daly avoids it easily.

Daly moves into the clinch.
Bourdeau wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Daly has him pressed against the cage.

Daly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Daly has managed to clinch.
Daly has Bourdeau pressed against the cage, preventing Bourdeau from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Daly decides to pull guard.

Daly is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bourdeau defends well.
Daly preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Bourdeau postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Daly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bourdeau, into his guard.

Daly drops back looking for a leg! Bourdeau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bourdeau manages to kick Daly off! Daly jumps back into Bourdeau's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Daly sitting in guard here, content to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steven Daly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Daly seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bourdeau shoots in looking for a takedown. Daly tries to sprawl out of it but Bourdeau keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bourdeau takes a swing at Daly's ribcage but misses.
Daly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Daly fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bourdeau, pushing him back against the cage.
Daly keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bourdeau's efforts to push away.

Daly shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bourdeau manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bourdeau is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bourdeau is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Daly is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Daly has control of an arm but Bourdeau manages to advance to Daly's back!

Daly is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Bourdeau off. It looks like it's working - Bourdeau slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Daly displaying calm under pressure there.

Daly looking to score a takedown here. Bourdeau is defending well but Daly drives through and ends up in Bourdeau's guard.

Daly doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Bourdeau shoots in but Daly avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Daly closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bourdeau to the mat! Bourdeau manages to get full guard.

Well Daly has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
