The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sword stuffs the takedown.
Kjell Sword seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sword closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paul Jr circles away.
Sword shoots in looking for a takedown but Paul Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sword's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Paul Jr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sword's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Paul Jr has gone for a leg lock! Sword slips out almost immediately though and dives into Paul Jr's guard.
Sword throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paul Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Paul Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Paul Jr is trying to control the action in half guard but Sword is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sword avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul Jr looking to sit in guard and control but Sword gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sword stands up over Paul Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sword postures up in Paul Jr's guard and throws a big left but Paul Jr blocks it.
Paul Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul Jr is trying to control the position but Sword postures up.
Sword stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paul Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Paul Jr tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Paul Jr pushes a forearm under Sword's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sword is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
