Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Rissi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bequembauer Silva! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva has a takedown stuffed. Rissi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Rissi getting side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Silva keeps control of the position for the meantime. Rissi wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. Rissi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Silva is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Rissi works his way into full mount! Silva avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rissi.
Silva tries to hold on but Rissi pushes him away. Silva is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Rissi is staying active. Rissi trying to control but he's not successful this time. Silva is looking to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control but Rissi is having none of it. Silva is looking to improve his position but Rissi isn't that keen on the idea. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rissi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rissi looking to control but Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rissi is really struggling to control Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position. Rissi could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Silva tries to lock up and control but Rissi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rissi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape. Silva wants to hold on but Rissi pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rissi wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Rissi misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Silva controls the position. Rissi thowing shots but they're missing. Silva controls the position. Silva tries to hold on but Rissi pushes him away. Rissi tries to push Silva's head away but Silva is holding on tight. Silva tries to hold on but Rissi pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rissi trying to control but Silva is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth. Silva tries to control the position but Rissi now has his back.

Rissi is looking for the choke from the back position but Silva is controlling his hands well. Rissi avoiding Silva 's attempts to control his hands. Silva tries to escape but Rissi has the hooks in and won't let him break free. This has been an exciting period of action! Will Rissi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Silva turns into Rissi and is now in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Rissi will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rissi shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silva has a takedown stuffed. Rissi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rissi circles away. Andre Rissi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bequembauer Silva. Silva shoots and misses and Rissi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. Silva is trying to control the position but Rissi postures up. Rissi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Rissi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Silva looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Silva is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Rissi trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Andre Rissi just wasn't active enough. Rissi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rissi as he jumps to the side. Silva fails with the takedown and Rissi counters with a nice uppercut. Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rissi wants to clinch. Nice shot lands for Rissi. Rissi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Silva holding on. Rissi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rissi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Silva struggling a bit here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rissi in the domination position with Silva hanging on. You can see the frustration on Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rissi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Silva tries to buck Rissi off but Rissi is having none of it. Rissi working away. Rissi trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Silva is holding Rissi down, trying to stall.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rissi darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage. Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rissi pulls him back up using the underhooks. Silva is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva blocks an elbow strike. Rissi can't get the takedown.

Rissi is looking for a takedown. Silva has clasped his hands together around Rissi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Andre Rissi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silva scoring with punches from side control. Rissi is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control. Silva scores with punches from side control. Rissi takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva working the ground and pound from side control. Silva looks up at the clock and then as Rissi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Silva smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rissi is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Andre Rissi will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rissi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Andre Rissi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva gets the takedown into side control. Rissi regains half guard, as Silva was trying to land strikes. Rissi wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Silva with the ground and pound but Rissi uses the opportunity to regain guard. Rissi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rissi stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Rissi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Andre Rissi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bequembauer Silva.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rissi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rissi is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Silva is holding on to half guard well. Rissi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Rissi from advancing position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Andre Rissi wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rissi wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Silva lands strikes from half guard. Silva looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Silva is nestled in close to Rissi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Silva landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Silva winds up and cracks Rissi with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Silva stops Rissi from getting back to his feet.
Silva slips a nice elbow through Rissi's hands, connecting with Rissi's forehead. Rissi wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rissi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rissi wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Silva drops an elbow to the side of Rissi's head. Silva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Silva lands strikes from half guard. Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rissi with a short hammerfist. Rissi works his way to full guard. Good work. Silva keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rissi's head. Silva makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Silva postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva distracts Rissi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Silva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Silva postures up and lands a big shot to Rissi's brow. Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rissi is on top in guard.
Silva pulls Rissi in to control the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Rissi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Bequembauer Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rissi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
