The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Ovechkin does no damage.
Bulpin wants to clinch.
Bulpin shoots for a double leg takedown but Ovechkin sprawls well. He's pushed Bulpin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bulpin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ovechkin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ovechkin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ovechkin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Ovechkin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bulpin is just riding it out for now. Ovechkin eventually gives up the hold.
Ovechkin wants to work for an arm triangle but Bulpin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
