Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Ovechkin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Bulpin! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Ovechkin does no damage. Bulpin wants to clinch. Bulpin shoots for a double leg takedown but Ovechkin sprawls well. He's pushed Bulpin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bulpin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ovechkin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ovechkin drives through with a takedown into guard. Ovechkin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ovechkin looking to pass the guard. Bulpin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ovechkin distracts Bulpin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovechkin wants to pass the guard but Bulpin is keeping the position. Ovechkin passes into half guard. Ovechkin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bulpin defends it well. Bulpin actively working from the bottom here. Ovechkin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bulpin is just riding it out for now. Ovechkin eventually gives up the hold. Ovechkin wants to work for an arm triangle but Bulpin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bulpin wants to get back to full guard. Ovechkin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ovechkin is breathing heavily. Bulpin won't allow Ovechkin to pass to mount. Ovechkin is working for a kimura but Bulpin is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bulpin is looking to improve his position.

Ovechkin pushes down on Bulpin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ovechkin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bulpin is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
