Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Minotauro Shogun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabiano Contreiras!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Contreiras rushes Shogun and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Contreiras is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shogun is defending well for now.
Contreiras prevents the takedown attempt.
Contreiras tries a body shot but Shogun blocks it.

Contreiras manages to pull guard.

Shogun gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shogun shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Contreiras moves into the clinch.
Contreiras goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shogun prevents it.
Shogun misses with a hook to the ribs.
Shogun keeps control of Contreiras as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Contreiras escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Contreiras shoots for a takedown but Shogun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Shogun misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Contreiras.
Contreiras slips under a jab.
Contreiras with a poor takedown

and Shogun counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Minotauro Shogun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabiano Contreiras.
Contreiras trying to keep a closed guard but Shogun is proving a slippery customer.
Shogun scoring with some ground and pound.
Contreiras is looking to sweep but instead, Shogun has passed into half guard.
Shogun is controlling the pace.
Shogun moves nicely into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shogun cracks Contreiras with a big right hand but Contreiras just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shogun is working to tighten is grip on Contreiras's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Contreiras has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Shogun is really squeezing tight and eventually Contreiras passes out! Shogun breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Minotauro Shogun!
