Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Taz Devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devil comes to the cage accompanied by Motorhead-Enter Sandman. Spencer has chosen Ride Of The Valkyries - Richard Wagner as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 17 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Taz Devil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Devil misses.
Spencer thows a leg kick but Devil checks it
and Devil counters with a straight right hand.
Devil throws a sloppy head kick and Spencer moves out of range easily.
Nice takedown defense from Devil. No joy for Spencer on that attempt.
Spencer blocks a head kick by Devil.
Spencer looks to land a body kick but Devil moved away.

Spencer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Spencer showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Spencer thows a huge punch but Devil dodges it nicely.

Spencer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Devil is just riding it out for now. Spencer eventually gives up the hold.
Spencer scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Devil looks like he's trying to stand up.
Spencer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Spencer is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Spencer seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Devil has recovered full guard.
Spencer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Spencer connects with a couple of short punches.
Devil preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Devil pushes Spencer off and scrambles back to his feet.
Spencer moves out of range as Devil throws a body kick.
Devil throws a head kick that misses
enabling Spencer to counter with a crisp jab.
Devil jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A looping hook to the body misses from Devil. Spencer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Devil throws a head kick but Spencer moves out of range.

Spencer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Spencer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Spencer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Devil works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Spencer throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Devil wriggles free and stands up.
Spencer blocks a jab.
Devil misses with a low kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Devil. That's going to slow Spencer down.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Devil.
Devil throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Devil takes one to the side of the head.
Spencer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A solid body kick from Devil.
Devil takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Spencer shoots in for a double leg but Devil sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Taz Devil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Spencer.
Devil scores with a punch to the head.
Devil swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Spencer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Devil thinking.

Spencer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spencer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Devil not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Devil pulls Spencer in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mark Spencer will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Spencer takes a swing at Devil's ribcage but misses.
Taz Devil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spencer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Devil looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Spencer won't allow Devil to get back to his feet.
Spencer throws a strike but Devil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Spencer has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Devil has passed into side control.

Spencer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Spencer is trying to buck Devil off.

Spencer wants to control but Devil postures up.
Mark Spencer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Spencer tries to buck Devil off but Devil is having none of it.

Devil stands up.
Devil looks to throw the jab but Spencer is out of range.
Devil throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Devil avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Spencer on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Spencer has a takedown stuffed.
A jab from Devil misses.
Spencer fails with a takedown attempt.
Devil throws a nice looking combination but Spencer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spencer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Devil avoids it really well and circles away.
Taz Devil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Spencer.
Devil throws out a powerful jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Spencer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Devil - the referee stops the clock and Spencer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Devil. Spencer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A head kick by Devil misses

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Devil won't be happy with that.
Spencer throwing strikes but Devil manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Spencer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Devil is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spencer.
Devil misses with the combination.
Devil throws the left hand but Spencer avoids the punch easily.

Spencer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Spencer tries to score with some ground and pound. Devil controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Spencer grinds an elbow into Devil's temple.
Devil is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Spencer asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Spencer throws a strike aimed at the side of Devil's head but Devil avoids it well.

Spencer with the ground and pound but Devil regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Devil desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Devil trying to control but Spencer postures up.

Spencer is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Devil as he works his way to full guard.

Spencer seems to be looking for submissions.
Devil blocking the ground and pound attempt from Spencer.
Spencer wants to pass to mount but Devil is defending the position.

Spencer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Spencer thows a huge punch but Devil dodges it nicely.

Devil wants to control but Spencer is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Spencer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Devil defends it well.

Spencer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Devil wants to get back to his feet.
Spencer is trying to control the action in half guard but Devil is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Spencer is looking for a kimura but Devil is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spencer to get the leverage.
Spencer is stalling here. Devil is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Spencer seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Devil has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Devil stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Taz Devil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mark Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Spencer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
