Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Thunstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thunstrom has chosen Prodigy - Spitfire as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lars Thunstrom!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunstrom is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hart.
Thunstrom misses with an uppercut.
Thunstrom misses the shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Hart.
Thunstrom tests Hart's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hart throws a leg kick which misses Thunstrom's front leg but catches the back leg as Thunstrom tries to avoid it.
Hart misses with an attempted mid kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thunstrom is defended easily by Hart.
Hart thuds his shin into the meat of Thunstrom's side.
Hart takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thunstrom swings for the body but Hart moves out of range.

Thunstrom fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hart throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thunstrom on the side of the head.

Thunstrom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hart moves away.

Hart feints and as Thunstrom raises his hands in defense, Hart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Thunstrom looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hart has picked Thunstrom up and slammed him! Thunstrom can't keep hold of the triangle and Hart manages to pass to side control!
Hart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thunstrom keeps working.

Hart is trying to get an arm triangle but Thunstrom is defending well.

Hart connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Thunstrom some visible discomfort.
Hart creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Thunstrom sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Thunstrom on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Thunstrom sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Hart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hart with the ground and pound but Thunstrom uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Thunstrom manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hart looks to land a body kick but Thunstrom moved away.
Hart fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thunstrom has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Thunstrom counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Thunstrom.

Thunstrom drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hart looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hart looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hart!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hart is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thunstrom has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hart tries to score with some ground and pound. Thunstrom controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hart winds up and cracks Thunstrom with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hart cracks Thunstrom with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hart lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
