Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nice Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Doe.

Doe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guy's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Doe tries to free his leg and advance position but Guy is retaining full guard.
Doe sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Doe.

Doe throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Doe is in Guy's guard.
Guy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Doe controls the pace.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guy wants to stand up but Doe is controlling him.
Guy is breathing heavily.
Doe stays in close to Guy's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Doe wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Doe throws a knee to the head but misses.

Doe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Doe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Doe punishes Guy's body with a nice straight punch.

Doe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guy did well to prevent Doe getting side control.
Doe is taking a breather. Guy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Doe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Guy kicks off Doe and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Doe moves into the clinch.

Doe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Doe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Doe is taking a breather. Guy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Doe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Guy to stand up.

Doe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doe lands in his opponent's guard.
Guy wants to stand but Doe is controlling the position.

Doe stands up and waves to Guy to follow him.

Doe closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Guy regains guard immediately.
Doe content to stall in guard here.
Doe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doe postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe dominated that round.
That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Doe moves into range and clinches up with Guy.
Doe is trying to pull guard but Guy turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Doe content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Doe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Doe dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Guy misses with a takedown
and Doe makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Doe rushes Guy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Doe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A thudding body kick lands there by Doe!
Doe misses with a jab, cross combination.

Doe gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Knees to the body from Doe.
Doe has Guy pushed against the cage.

Doe pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Doe uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Doe rushes Guy and presses him up against the cage.
Doe unloads a knee to the mid-section.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doe is working Guy over against the cage.

Doe tightens his grip and picks Guy up, before dumping him to the ground. Guy manages to land in guard.
Doe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Guy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Doe is controlling him.

Doe is working Guy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Doe gets to his feet. Guy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Doe scores with a leg kick.

Doe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Guy quickly recovers to half guard.
Doe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Guy is looking to escape.
Doe trying to pass the guard but Guy defending well.

Doe stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Guy to get to his feet.

Doe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Guy is trying to push Doe away but Doe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Doe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Guy uses from the top position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doe wriggles free and stands up.
Doe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice Guy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Doe is trying to control. Guy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Guy looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Doe wants to free his trapped foot but Guy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Guy is trying to stand up here but Doe is controlling him well.

Doe is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.

John Doe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Guy is trying to stand.
Doe wants to pass to mount but Guy is defending the position.
Doe keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Guy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Doe.

Doe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guy to the mat! Guy manages to get full guard.
Doe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Nice Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Doe trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Doe won't allow Guy to get back to his feet.
Guy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Doe dives into side control.
Guy is letting Doe control him for a moment.
Let's hope that Doe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Doe counters with a left to the body.

Doe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Guy tries to kick Doe off but Doe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Doe trying to mount his opponent but Guy defends it.

Doe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Guy to stand up.

and Guy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Doe!
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guy punching from mount but Doe doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Doe blocking the ground and pound.
John Doe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Doe's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Doe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Doe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
