Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kermit Earlandson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Earlandson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to the theme from titanic. Kermit Earlandson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kermit Earlandson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uri Boyka! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earlandson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boyka's guard. Boyka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Earlandson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Earlandson tries to free his leg and advance position but Boyka is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Earlandson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Earlandson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boyka looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boyka looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boyka! Boyka tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Earlandson is looking for a sweep. Boyka tries to move to mount but Earlandson blocks the move with his legs. Earlandson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Earlandson actively working from the bottom here. Boyka is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Earlandson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Boyka wants to pass to mount but Earlandson is defending the position. Boyka moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Earlandson. Boyka controls the position. Earlandson is looking to regain half guard here but Boyka keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Earlandson struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Earlandson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Boyka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Earlandson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Boyka trying to pass the guard but Earlandson defending well. Boyka wants to work for an arm triangle but Earlandson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Earlandson manages to get to full guard.

Earlandson has his foot on Boyka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boyka works his way back into a safe position though. Boyka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boyka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Earlandson pushes a forearm under Boyka's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Boyka is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kermit Earlandson! After winning the bout, Kermit Earlandson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
