Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gil Brother (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gil Brother!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lucas Langley!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brother misses with a takedown attempt - Langley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gil Brother seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brother closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Langley to the mat! Langley manages to get full guard.
Brother works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Langley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brother is working away from the top position though.
Langley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Brother looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Brother is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Langley controlling the position for now.
Langley wants to control but Brother is keeping busy.

Brother tries to stand and escape but Langley is controlling the position.
Langley trying to control here.
Brother thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Langley's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Langley tries to clinch up.
Brother shoots in for a takedown but Langley shows good takedown defense.
Brother is breathing heavily.

Brother moves into the clinch.

Brother breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Langley scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Langley tries to advance to mount but Brother denies him.

Langley tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Langley controls the position.
Brother tries to bench press Langley off him but Langley keeps the position.
Langley is looking to take a break and control but Brother is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Langley is staying tight to Brother's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Langley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brother keeps working.

Langley stands up.
Brother fails with the takedown
and Langley counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gil Brother. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Langley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Brother counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Langley is pulling down on Brother's head. It's preventing any offense from Brother, at least for the moment.
Brother tries to free his leg and advance position but Langley is retaining full guard.
Brother wants to stand and escape but instead Langley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gil Brother will probably get the nod.

Brother looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Brother looking for a guillotine here but Langley defends easily.

Brother working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Langley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Langley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brother wants to stand up but Langley is controlling him.

Brother looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Langley showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Brother looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Langley passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brother is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brother is looking to get back to is feet but Langley passes into side control.
Brother is looking to regain half guard here but Langley keeps moving and retains side control.
Langley slows the pace down.
Brother regains half guard.

Brother wants to improve his position but Langley is controlling well.
Langley is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Brother tries to roll over but Langley keeps him under control.
Brother is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Langley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Brother pushes Langley off and gets back to his feet.

Langley tries to keep at a distance but Brother has taken the fight into the clinch.
Langley is trying to maintain a safe position but Brother gets an underhook and turns Langley into the cage.

Brother breaks from the clinch.
Brother keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brother shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Langley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Langley stands and throws Brother's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Brother is looking to regain half guard here but Langley keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Langley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Brother closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brother is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Langley!
Poor strikes thrown by Brother there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Brother goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Langley is on top in guard.
Brother wants to improve his position but instead Langley has moved into half guard.
Brother tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Langley has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Langley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brother is working to get back to half guard.
Brother really wants to buck Langley off and get back to his feet.
Brother tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Langley looking to control but Brother is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Brother is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Langley has hold of Brother's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brother manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brother keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brother is trying to reverse the position but instead Langley has taken his back - oops!
Brother is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Langley cracks Brother with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Brother from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Brother tries to break free.
Lucas Langley has got the better of the ground game so far.
Langley doesn't have the hooks in and Brother manages to turn into his guard.
Brother passes Langley's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Brother looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Brother is looking for a kimura but Langley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brother to get the leverage.
Brother wants to stand up but Langley has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Langley is defending against the submission attempts here by Brother.
Langley gets full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gil Brother showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Brother has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
