3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Padraig McGuinness! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuinness lands the left hand. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Disgracie. Rickson Disgracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Disgracie scores with a takedown into McGuinness's guard. McGuinness tries to land a sweep but no joy. Disgracie works a leg free and moves into half guard. Disgracie wants to work for an arm triangle but McGuinness is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McGuinness wants to improve his position but Disgracie is controlling well.
Nice strikes from Disgracie there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGuinness is trying to get back to full guard. McGuinness is trying to control but can't.
Disgracie is nestled in close to McGuinness, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Well, if Disgracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Disgracie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McGuinness's head. McGuinness has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Disgracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Disgracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Disgracie slips nicely into half guard. Disgracie scoring with strikes to the body and head. Disgracie working over McGuinness with some ground and pound. McGuinness looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Disgracie lands with a punch from half guard. Disgracie slips a nice elbow through McGuinness's hands, connecting with McGuinness's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGuinness tries to get to full guard but Disgracie has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Disgracie. McGuinness looks winded! Disgracie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Disgracie working the head and body with strikes. Disgracie scoring with strikes to the body and head. The crowd are loving this. Disgracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McGuinness with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Disgracie connects with a nice short shot to McGuinness's temple.
McGuinness is rocked! Disgracie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. McGuinness is still in real trouble! Can Disgracie finish him? Disgracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McGuinness has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Disgracie is working away from the top position though. Disgracie seems to be working for a kimura but McGuinness defends the submission attempt. McGuinness seems to have recovered his senses. Disgracie sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. McGuinness trying to hold on to Disgracie's head to control him but Disgracie postures up.
Disgracie lands with a punch from half guard. Disgracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Disgracie is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Disgracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McGuinness defends it well. Disgracie winds up and cracks McGuinness with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Disgracie scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Disgracie prevents McGuinness from improving his position.
That's six minutes gone in the round. McGuinness wants to control but Disgracie is keeping busy and won't allow it. Disgracie working over McGuinness with some ground and pound. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Disgracie lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt McGuinness quite badly. McGuinness pulls Disgracie in close trying to recover. Disgracie postures up and lands two really hard shots that put McGuinness on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but McGuinness doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
