Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Maddox Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Daltrey!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daltrey scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hughes tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Daltrey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Daltrey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hughes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Daltrey is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

Daltrey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Daltrey is fighting to break Hughes's control of his arms but Hughes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maddox Hughes wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Daltrey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hughes sprawls well. Hughes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daltrey gets slowly back to his feet.

Daltrey is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hughes can't fight it off and eventually Daltrey manages to take the fight to the floor. Hughes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Let's hope that Daltrey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Daltrey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Frankie Daltrey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Daltrey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Daltrey wants it to stay on the feet.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Daltrey as he jumps to the side.

Hughes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Daltrey's waist but Daltrey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hughes off to one side.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Daltrey hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Daltrey takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Daltrey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
