Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skantze Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevenson comes to the cage accompanied by Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Skantze Jr.
Skantze Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stevenson circles away quickly and effectively.
Stevenson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Skantze Jr is fending him off so far but Stevenson persists. Nope, Skantze Jr circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Skantze Jr. No joy for Stevenson on that attempt.
Skantze Jr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stevenson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Skantze Jr is pressing down on Stevenson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Stevenson postures up and lands a big shot to Skantze Jr's brow.
Skantze Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stevenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stevenson wants to control from the top but Skantze Jr keeps moving.
Stevenson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Skantze Jr's head.
Stevenson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Stevenson moves nicely into side control.

Skantze Jr on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Skantze Jr is looking to regain half guard here but Stevenson keeps moving and retains side control.

BOOM! Stevenson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
