Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Brad Maddox has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brad Maddox seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Maddox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses with a takedown attempt

and Anderson counters with a takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Maddox manages to get back to half guard.
Anderson slips a nice elbow through Maddox's hands, connecting with Maddox's forehead.
Maddox wants to improve his position but Anderson is controlling well.
Maddox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anderson is working away from the top position though.
Maddox avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Anderson.
Anderson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Anderson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Maddox's head.
Anderson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Anderson looking for a submission but Maddox manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Maddox bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anderson's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maddox is in close to Anderson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Maddox drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Maddox off! Maddox jumps back into Anderson's guard.

Maddox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maddox has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.

Maddox advances to half guard.
Anderson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Maddox slips a nice elbow through Anderson's hands, connecting with Anderson's forehead.
Maddox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Anderson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maddox not doing much here.
Maddox wants to take a breather but Anderson is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Maddox is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maddox is trying to control. Anderson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Maddox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Anderson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Anderson is in trouble now - Maddox has advanced to mount!
Maddox postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Anderson looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maddox content just to control the position here.
Anderson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maddox breaks from Anderson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Anderson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Maddox's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brad Maddox!
An out of breath Brad Maddox thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
