Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Laid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Laid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damien Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laid shoots in for a takedown but Melendez shows good takedown defense.
Melendez gets caught flat footed, as Laid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Laid throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Laid avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Melendez looking for a guillotine here but Laid defends easily.
Melendez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Laid.
Laid is working Melendez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
It looks like Damien Melendez has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laid avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Laid throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Melendez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Laid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Laid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Laid thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Laid postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Melendez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Laid, into his guard.
Melendez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Laid has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Melendez has managed to get both his arms back between Laid's legs - danger averted.
Melendez has gone for a leg lock! Laid slips out almost immediately though and dives into Melendez's guard.
Melendez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Laid with a flurry of punches that miss.
Laid tries to free his leg and advance position but Melendez is retaining full guard.
Laid advances position into side control!
Laid in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laid looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Melendez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Laid has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Laid cracks Melendez with a big elbow.
Melendez pushes Laid away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Laid gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Laid lands a decent elbow from side control.
Melendez is trying to buck Laid off.
Laid thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Melendez is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Laid scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Melendez to see if he's OK.
Laid has an Americana. Melendez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Laid is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Laid hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
