Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshihiro Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kanye West - Amazing. Toshihiro Kai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai lands with a slapping head kick.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kai digs a good body shot into Silva's ribs.
Silva throws a jab when Kai was well out of range.

Kai wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kai's waist but Kai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

That was a close round but Toshihiro Kai did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kai seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kai looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kai looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kai!

Kai cracks Silva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
