Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorgen Kruth!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice sprawl there from Kruth as Urai shoots in.

Jorgen Kruth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Urai closes the distance and clinches up with Kruth, looking for a takedown. Urai pushes Kruth against the cage but Kruth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Urai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kruth tries to avoid it but Urai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kruth to the ground. Kruth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Urai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kruth as he jumps to the side.

Kruth throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Urai stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Kruth follows into mount!

It looks like Sam Urai has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Kruth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Urai has his foot on Kruth's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kruth works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Urai wants to sweep here but Kruth controlling him for the moment.

Urai trying to keep a closed guard but Kruth is proving a slippery customer.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kruth stopping the sweep attempt from Urai.
Kruth would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kruth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Urai wants to sweep here but Kruth controlling him for the moment.
Urai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Urai shoots in and drives through. Kruth sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Urai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kruth but Kruth pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Urai decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kruth's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kruth wants to get back to his feet but Urai is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kruth can do anything to dispel that myth.
Urai wants to control from the top but Kruth keeps moving.
Urai is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kruth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Urai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Urai passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Urai content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Urai stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Urai darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Urai wants to work for an arm triangle but Kruth is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Urai is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kruth is just riding it out for now. Urai eventually gives up the hold.
Urai wants to control but Kruth is keeping him busy.

Urai is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Urai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Urai in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kruth tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Urai!
