Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jamie Lanastar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Crow! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crow looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Lanastar checks a leg kick. Crow throws a leg kick that misses. Lanastar scores with a nice right hand.
Lanastar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Crow pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lanastar is out of range and Crow settles back down. Crow looks to land a right hand but Lanastar moved out of range. Lanastar missing with a left hand there. Crow was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lanastar looks to throw the jab but Crow is out of range. Lanastar lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Jack Crow has been cut. Crow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lanastar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crow somewhat. Lanastar throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crow throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lanastar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Crow is in Lanastar's guard. Crow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Crow wants to pass the guard but Lanastar is keeping the position. Lanastar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lanastar tries to get out of the position. Lanastar tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lanastar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crow on the ground. Lanastar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lanastar is trying to control the position but Crow postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Crow swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crow is looking to score with low kicks. Lanastar checks a low kick from Crow. Nice uppercut lands for Lanastar. That snapped Crow's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crow comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lanastar checks a leg kick nicely. Lanastar changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Crow moves out of range as Lanastar strikes. Crow uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lanastar misses the shot to the body. Lanastar throws a hook but Crow blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lanastar throws a right hand that Crow ducks under and follows up with a left that Crow also avoids with ease. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lanastar checks a leg kick. Lanastar throws out a loose jab but Crow uses good head movement to avoid it. Lanastar checks a low kick from Crow. Lanastar tries to clinch but Crow is having none of it. Lanastar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Crow stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice defenses there by Crow. Crow finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lanastar lands a body shot.
Lanastar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crow throws a low kick but Lanastar avoids it. Lanastar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lanastar wants it to stay on the feet. Lanastar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crow moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Crow missing with a left hand there. Lanastar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Crow walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lanastar checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lanastar, as that shot connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crow misses with a low kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Crow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lanastar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jamie Lanastar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Crow. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lanastar checks a leg kick. Crow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lanastar sprawls well. Lanastar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Crow gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamie Lanastar dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Crow's cut. That's time! Lanastar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Crow tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Lanastar works the jab nicely. Crow shoots for a takedown but Lanastar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Crow throws a leg kick and Lanastar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Crow is rocked! Lanastar lands a nice looking body shot.
Crow is still on wobbly legs! Can Lanastar finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Crow fails with a takedown attempt. Jamie Lanastar is winning the standup battle so far. Lanastar walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Crow drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Lanastar swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Crow's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jamie Lanastar!
