Roaig has chosen The Doors - Alabama song as his entrance music. Laph Roaig will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rook is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Roaig loads up on a big right hand but Rook slips the punch.
Roaig misses with an uppercut
and Rook counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Laph Roaig has been cut.
Rook is looking to clinch.
Roaig swings for the body but Rook moves out of range.
Rook tries a head kick but it misses.
Roaig misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Roaig clobbers Rook with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Good exchange - Roaig coming out on top.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rook throws a body punch but Roaig moves out of range.
Roaig lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Roaig connects with an inside leg kick.
Rook steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Roaig.

Rook misses with a double jab.
Roaig lunges at Rook with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rook's hand.

Rook pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck for Rook with that takedown attempt.
Roaig swats away the attempt to clinch by Rook.
Roaig takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Roaig moves out of range of the body kick.
Rook throws a leg kick that misses.
Roaig digs a good hook to Rook's body.
Rook lands a front kick.
Good exchange - Roaig coming out on top.
It looks like Bowman Rook has been cut.
Roaig has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Rook checks the leg kick.
Rook misses with a straight left.
Rook misses the shot to the body.
Rook lands a jab to Roaig's midsection.
Laph Roaig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Roaig scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Rook is rocked!
Roaig drops Rook with a huge uppercut! Rook drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Roaig is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Laph Roaig!
A relieved looking Laph Roaig thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
