The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rodrigues sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Rodrigues lands a jab to Silva's midsection.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rodrigues scores with a jab to the body.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rodrigues feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Rodrigues then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rodrigues changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rodrigues misses the jab.

Silva misses with a double jab.
A head kick misses from Silva.
Rodrigues throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Leandro Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Silva.
Silva throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rodrigues counters with a stiff right hand.
Rodrigues lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Leandro Rodrigues is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Rodrigues counters with a one-two to the body.
Rodrigues connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rodrigues lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva wants to clinch
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rodrigues counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Rodrigues to acknowledge the strikes.
Silva is rocked!
Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rodrigues counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Silva moves to clinch but Rodrigues breaks away
and Rodrigues counters with a nice uppercut.
Rodrigues scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Silva tries for a takedown but Rodrigues circles away easily
and Rodrigues counters with a straight that turns Silva's legs to rubber! Rodrigues pushes forward with more strikes and Silva goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
