Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wandy Wandeco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and So Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wandeco's entrance music is Sandstorm. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wandy Wandeco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, So Hai! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wandeco tries to close the distance and clinch but Hai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wandeco tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hai fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wandeco checks it well. Hai swats away the attempt to clinch by Wandeco. Wandeco wants to clinch but Hai slips to the side and Hai counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hai. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Wandeco controlling the position. Hai wants to control from the top but Wandeco keeps moving. Hai sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wandeco's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wandeco wants to get back to his feet.
Hai wants to take a breather but Wandeco is having none of it. Hai takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hai working Wandeco over with strikes. Hai moves nicely into side control. Wandeco is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hai is controlling him well. Hai is looking to take a break and control but Wandeco is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wandeco is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hai connects with a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hai throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hai lands a nice forearm strike. Wandeco is trying to improve his position. Hai grinds an elbow into Wandeco's temple. Wandeco takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hai has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wandeco is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Hai just content to control the position. Hai wants to control but Wandeco is keeping him busy. Wandeco pushes Hai away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hai gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hai is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wandeco is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wandeco is looking to regain half guard here but Hai keeps moving and retains side control. Wandeco gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! A nice elbow there by Hai. Hai punishing his opponent with strikes. Hai tries to control but Wandeco wriggling away. Hai pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hai tries to control but Wandeco wriggling away. Wandeco is trying to stand up. Hai lands a big elbow. Wandeco squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Hai looking to control and managing it successfully. Wandeco taking shots to the head. Hai cracks Wandeco with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hai scoring with strikes but Wandeco is staying in there.
Wandeco is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hai looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Wandeco covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). So Hai! After winning the bout, So Hai thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
