Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jojo Cunnings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Dillashaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Dillashaw's choice of entrance music: Jump Around-House of Pain. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jojo Cunnings! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, TJ Dillashaw! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillashaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dillashaw postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dillashaw lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cunnings knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dillashaw on the ground. Cunnings being controlled here, momentarily. Dillashaw's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Dillashaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dillashaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cunnings has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dillashaw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dillashaw wants to pass the guard but Cunnings is keeping the position. Cunnings escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dillashaw gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dillashaw advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunnings is trying to improve his position. Dillashaw controls the position. It looks like Dillashaw might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. TJ Dillashaw hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. No luck with that takedown attempt from Dillashaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cunnings looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cunnings falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dillashaw counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dillashaw cracks Cunnings with a solid left hand. Cunnings is looking to stand up but Dillashaw isn't so interested in that idea. Dillashaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by TJ Dillashaw. Dillashaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cunnings circles away. Dillashaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cunnings tries to avoid it but Dillashaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cunnings to the ground. Cunnings escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jojo Cunnings has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ Dillashaw. Cunnings punishes Dillashaw's body with a nice straight punch. Dillashaw slips a jab and a cross from Cunnings.
Dillashaw gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cunnings counters with a series of strikes. Dillashaw will be more careful next time no doubt.

Cunnings comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cunnings lands a lovely overhand right. Cunnings lunges at Dillashaw with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dillashaw's hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dillashaw doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cunnings counters with a head kick. Let's hope that Dillashaw has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Dillashaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cunnings's waist but Cunnings gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dillashaw off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dillashaw is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Jojo Cunnings is winning the standup battle so far. Cunnings with a nice cross. Dillashaw with a lazy takedown attempt and Cunnings counters with a head kick. That will keep Dillashaw thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Dillashaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dillashaw stands and throws Cunnings's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dillashaw takes a little break here. Cunnings wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cunnings is not going to allow Dillashaw to sit and survive in this position. Cunnings tightening his grip on Dillashaw, looking for the choke. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dillashaw is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That was a close round but Jojo Cunnings did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
