Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shea Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shea Conner! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conner stuffs the takedown. Griffin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Conner moves away from the strike by Griffin. Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Conner swats him away and circles back towards the center. Horrible takedown by Griffin or perhaps it was just good defense by Conner which made him look bad. Conner moves into range and clinches up with Griffin. Conner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Griffin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Conner drags the fight down to the ground.
Griffin drops back looking for a leg! Conner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Conner manages to kick Griffin off! Griffin jumps back into Conner's guard. Conner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Griffin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Conner looking for a sweep. Not yet Conner, not yet. Conner throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Conner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Griffin is looking for a kimura but Conner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griffin to get the leverage. Conner flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Conner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Conner tries to get to full guard but Griffin has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Conner checks a leg kick. Conner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Griffin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Griffin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Conner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Griffin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Conner's back instead. Griffin is breathing heavily. Conner wants to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Conner tries to roll but Griffin sticks to his back.
Conner defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Griffin's arms. I really don't envy Conner right now.
Griffin is trying to stick to Conner's back but Conner is turning into Griffin. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Griffin's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Conner. Conner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Conner is in close to Griffin's body, working some short punches and elbows. Conner pushing down on Griffin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conner decides to return to a standing position. Griffin misses with a two punch combination.
Tyson Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Conner has Griffin up against the cage in a clinch.
Griffin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Conner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Griffin prevents it.

Griffin is trying to keep an underhook but Conner manages to get the takedown into half guard. Griffin is not content to let Conner control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Conner scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Griffin?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Conner scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The referee warns Griffin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Griffin gets back to half guard. Griffin works his way to full guard. Good work. Conner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Griffin keeping full guard, as Conner tries to pass. Griffin is looking to sinch up a triangle. Conner throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Griffin's body to avoid the submission. Griffin has instead reached around Conner's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Griffin arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tyson Griffin!
